Meta & Instagram Advertising — How It Works

We use Meta's advertising platform (Facebook and Instagram) to promote our programmes and events. This section explains exactly what this means for you.

The Facebook / Meta Pixel

Our website uses the Meta Pixel — a small piece of code that tracks certain actions you take on our website (such as visiting our Events page, clicking a WhatsApp button, or submitting a contact form). This information is sent to Meta and used to:

  • Measure how effective our ads are
  • Show our ads to people who have visited our website (retargeting)
  • Find new people who may be interested in what we offer (lookalike audiences)

Lead Forms on Facebook and Instagram

We may run Lead Generation ads on Facebook and Instagram. If you fill in one of these forms, the information you submit (typically your name and phone number or email) is shared with us by Meta so we can follow up with you. By submitting a Meta lead form, you are consenting to us contacting you about the service you enquired about.

Custom Audiences

We may upload contact lists to Meta to create Custom Audiences — this means we can show ads specifically to people who have already interacted with us. Any data uploaded to Meta for this purpose is encrypted and used only for audience matching. Meta deletes it after matching is complete.

Your Choices Around Meta Advertising

  • You can opt out of interest-based advertising from Meta by visiting Facebook's Ad Preferences
  • You can manage your ad settings on Instagram through Settings → Ads
  • You can opt out of the Meta Pixel tracking by using a browser extension such as the Facebook Opt-out
